A Sad Day

Truly a sad day for Alpha Chi Rho and its brothers all over the world.

The Chapter House is closing and it is covered in the school paper and in the local news

All Aboard

I have never seen Rebecca stress like I have the last 2 weeks. The 2 close Eagles games almost put her over the edge.

Good news Rebecca. Now that the Eagles have lost, there can be no more football stress until next season unless.............

.......You jump on the New Orleans Saints Bandwagon.

No one can't resist. Your team is eliminated (Giants, Eagles, Skins, Raiders, Baltimore) and this is a great opportunity to particiapte in one of the feel good stories of the year!!!

The Saints, representing devastated New Orleans, are rising from worst to first behind their quarterback who was written off by other teams but has made an amazng comeback and their star rookie running back.

Welcome bandwagon fan and let the Saints go marching in.

East Coast

It is hard to travel across the country, but last week I had the most amazing two travel days. On thursday I worked almost a full day (7:30a-5pm) then got on the BART to head to the SFO airport from Oakland. That takes an hour. I got on a plane to Los Angeles, and then an Overnight flight to New York for a day of interviewing.

If you have to travel overnight, business or first class is the way to go. I take many of these flights, so I was ready with my noise cancelling headphones and eyeshade. But as I was sitting in business class, several other people got upgraded to business class. I could tell they were business class redeye virgins. Lots of talking and shouting across the rows until the guy ahead of me made the throat clear and I turned around to give them the "I will get you in your sleep if you do not be quiet now" look.

Upon arriving in New York at JFK airport, I took my life into my hands and grabbed a taxi to downtown Manhattan. That was $45 and the scariest 50 minutes of the day. I bought a day pass to the local gym next to the office, showered primped and got ready for the interviewing. Interviewing is hard work.

After a long day of interviews, I grabbed the subway to Penn Station New York in midtown, then onto an Amtrak Acela to Philadelphia's Penn Station. From there I got a local train to the airport, where I had parked when I flew out last Monday. Then I drove home and took my beautiful wife and wrinkly headed baby to the mall so people could come up to me and look at me, looking like 2 day old fish left in the sun, and then look at Steph and Kate and decide "That guy looks messed up, but his wife looks good and the baby is cute, so we won't call the baby people to harass him" Then we had the sleeping. The best part of the week.

Focus

One of my resolutoins for the new year is to focus on one thing at a time and not let my mind race. So when I got out of the shower I saw my can of Odor Eaters spray sitting next to the sink and thought " that doesn't bleong there". But with my new found discipline, I ignored moving it and shaved and was looking in the mirror when I realized that I had just picked up the can of Odor Eaters spray and coated my right armpit with it. Now, in addition to being pissed off, I was faced with the following choices: 1. Put deodoerant on the other armpit and hope this worked out ok 2. Put doedorant over the Odor eaters 3. Get back in the shower and try to wash off the odor eaters, which by the way is supposed to absorb moisture 3. Put deodorant on the foot of the same side to see if these products are interchangable

I washed it off, but I do wonder............

If you are lost

and need to get somewhere, who do you ask. I look for a UPS guy. They always know.

Never ask a cabbie. Or a cop.

Mail carrying professionals aren't a bad second choice.

I need a GPS

It ain's all bad

Hey there. I wish I had more to tell. I am leading the ERP (big software for businesses) Buy to Pay team at an unnamed large heatlhcare client in Northern California.

It's long hours far from home, but I do get to stay in the bestest hotel I've ever seen. This place has a gym, heated outdoor pools, full body massages, pedicure, all you can eat doritos(just kidding).

But I miss my honey, so while I am getting in great shape, the shape I miss is in Broomall PA.

Really loud

Here in China, our neighbor is a forensic chemist. Which means, on New Years, he comes outside in the dark, and sets off a really really loud explosion. I mean big time noise, like a bomb going off. Then he yells happy new years and goes back inside. I desperately want to be friends with this guy.
