It's the little things...

Since my life has gotten a little bit back on the normal side (is that possible?), I have made sure to take the time to sit in parks, take walks, eat lots of ice cream, etc... Yesterday, it was all the normal scenes in the park which includes hippies on their blankets, mommas and their babies, business people and their cell phones, bums and their paperbags (generalizations are fun). My eyes were scanning the area when they happened upon a young gentleman that didn't look any poorer than the average West Phillyite. In fact, he was kind of cute, until he started digging in a trash can to pick out whatever food he could shovel into his mouth. He scored big, pulling out a huge plastic bag of popcorn. He was obviously well-pleased with himself too-by the expression on his face. Apparantly, a business man power-walking through the park was also impressed by the dude's trash findings because he stopped talking on his cell phone to pat the guy on the back and exclame "good score!" To make this even funnier, the guy replied back "Thanks, man." Both then proceeded to walk their seperate ways. I don't know why, but I thought it was the funniest human interaction I'd seen in a really long time. No wonder those hippies sit on their blankets for so long in the park....

Absolutely not. Ice cream is a staple. And is part of the reason why I need to lose 40 pounds.

Are you crazy? No one in our family is vegan. And none of us would ever sign up for a diet that forbid ice cream.

Vegans can eat ice cream?? When did this happen?

Sounds like another 'RADHole' post in the making...

I experienced a similar thing involving a grease dumpster, a Latino, 3 Camel Cash, a DVD copy of “Singing in the Rain” and a ruined pair of taupe pantyhose.

They would probably buy more too. If Starbucks, Citizens Bank and Savon Pharmacy can get space at the Acme, why not Kelly's Irish Pub? You may be on to something.

They are mad because they are grocery shopping instead of drinking. If they had a bar in the grocery store- people would be much friendlier.
Just an idea.

Only in West Philly...

I went grocery shopping around 9PM last night and was stunned at the number of reckless and rude shopping cart drivers. This is obviously when the single working professionals and road warriors shop.
No jokes in line last night.
