You don't know the greatness you are

Today, my youngest sister Megan turns 22 years old. So I called her at 10 this morning, thinking she'd still be in bed. She's lazy like that. Instead, she was in the process of walking to our older sister Stephanie's house in the rain. "Happy birthday," I said.

"Oh, is it?" she replied. "I just rode my bike through the ghetto to get to public transportation and now I'm walking through the rain to go clean Steph's house."

I laughed at her like a good older sister is supposed to do and we talked about our other sister Becky's cat and its incontinence problem and the hazzards of mowing the lawn in the rain. After I hung up, I realized how much I enjoy my sisters, especially now that we're all older. Megan has grown into someone I truly love spending time with. She's not nearly as annoying as she used to be. Or maybe she is but I'm just mellowing with age.

Happy birthday, Meg.

I was smooshed between some guy eating cheetos really messilly and some other guy blowing his nose all over the place. What a ride, what a ride. At least I got to experience something new for my birthday plus it will give me a story. Seriously, though, I'm having a great birthday. Everyone I cared about remembered it and called me before noon. Don't they know I usually sleep until 2?

Uh, doesn't Megan already live in the ghetto?

Don't feel bad Megan. My Irish grandmother would say that it was good luck! Happy B-day!!!

Wow, I am such a slave driver. We do pay her, ya know. Is it my fault Becky's cat peed on her umbrella?...

Happy birthday, Megan!
