Best thing to do is go to bestbuy or your local camera shop and play with them. Make sure they have a comprehensive return policy cuz if you buy one and cant use it for some reason or you figure out it just plain sucks you can exchange it.
Posted by: TiVo Chris ;-) at March 16, 2005 10:13 AMI have an older Casio 3.3 MPX that is WONDERFUL! has a mini hard drive. Be sure to get plenty of storage [Flash cards, etc. have really come down in price recently] and PLENTY of rechargable AA batteries! That will save you a TON of money in the long run. The NIMH batteries seem to work best [NICAD get a memory and won't charge all the way up after a while].

Posted by: Vince at March 14, 2005 09:46 PMI'm a big Canon fan, for quality and simplicity you can't beat their A-series (A70, A80, etc).
Personally I use a SLR setup but I have several friends/family with the Canon A-line and have seen great results.
