My dog is a hottie

I know Zeke is an attractive dog, but that doesn't mean I'm going to start pimping him out to other dogs! On Friday, a man kept driving by my house very slowly. Eventually, he got out of his car and walked up to the door. "Is that a purebred wire-haired Jack Russell?" he asked. "He's a beautiful dog." He went on to ask if it would be possible to 'hook our dogs up' for breeding purposes before he spayed his dog. Hmmm. I'm glad Zeke has already been fixed. Who knows where his hootchie dog has been. Ugh.

It just stuck me as bizarre that someone would actually approach a complete stranger about dog breeding. I know there are people who are in the dog breeding business, but I don't think I'd ever approach someone whose dog I saw in their backyard. Is it weird or is this a common practice?
